Early in life, William’s parents wanted him to pursue a career in law. His family always encouraged competition. No matter how small the game was, there was always a reward for winning and a penalty for losing. Bill Gates’s journey started when he enrolled in a private Lakeside prep school. In this stage of life, he was captivated by machines and how they would consistently execute software codes without any mistakes. At 13, Bill Gates built his first software program, an implementation of tic tac Toe, which enabled students to play games on the machine. With his friends Paul Allen, Ric Weiland, and Kent Evans, Bill Gates started earning money by forming a lakeside programmer’s club. They also offered to look for bugs in the software to buy extra time to play on the computer.
Later, Gates started learning Machine Language, LISP, Fortran, and code that ran on the computer. In their senior year, Gates and Paul Allen found a company called Traf-O-Data. This company made traffic counters on the Intel 8008 processor. In 1973, he enrolled at Harvard to study math and computer science. As a solution to a series of unsolved problems, Bill Gates conceived an algorithm for pancake sorting. His solution was the fastest version for 30 years, and its successor is more immediate by only 2%. He soon dropped out of Harvard to start his own software company with Paul Allen, which came to be known as Microsoft.
Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in 1975. Their vision was to have a computer on every desktop and every home. The creation of a new Microcomputer, Micro Instrumentation, and Telemetry Systems – MITS is based on Intel 8080. The creators of micro-computer and MITS formed a partnership with Bill Gates and Paul Allen to work on the BASIC interpreter. Later in 1983, it began to release products like Microsoft word, followed by the first retail version of Microsoft Windows. Gates reviewed and often rewrote all the codes the company produced in the first five years. Later, His role turned into a managerial position which followed as an executive. As time passed and the internet came into the picture, Gates focused on developing his solutions for the internet. He developed the Windows CE operating system platform for networking non-computer devices such as home televisions and personal digital assistants.

He started focusing on philanthropy. They funded global health and development projects. Bill Gates stepped down from his chairman post to focus on this foundation, yet he still served as a board member until 2020 and technological advisor.
