Tom Green was born on 30th July 1971 in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. He was raised along with one sibling, Joe Green, by his father, Richard Green, who worked as a computer systems analyst and former captain and mother, Mary Jane Green. Tom spent his childhood in Ottawa.

He completed his early education at the Henry Munro Middle School, Colonel by Secondary School, and Cairine Wilson Secondary School. Later on, in 1994, Tom pursued a graduate degree in television broadcasting at Algonquin College. During his school life, he participated in the Sigma Pi Fraternity. His love for the creative field made him participate in several activities during his graduation.

Tom kick-started his professional career as a stand-up comedian while working in Yuk Yuk’s comedy club. He had deep inclinations of working in creative fields since a young age, which made him host an on-campus radio station during in college days. Late in the 1990s, Tom started working as a rapper in the Group Organized Rhyme. Followed by this, the rapper tried his hands in television hosting, launching his show on cable TV. His television show named ‘The Tom Green Show‘ aired in September 1994 and continued till 1996.

Afterward, in 1999, the popular MTV channel acquired the show, which made him gain popularity across the globe. The show was co-hosted by Tom himself along with his friend, Glenn Humplik. However, in 2000, the TV host was diagnosed with testicular cancer, a big shock. Fortunately, it was removed, and he moved back to his regular life routine without facing any professional crises. He has also worked on several successful Hollywood movies, including Freddy Got Fingered, Charlie’s Angels, and Road Trip.

Moreover, he has also directed and contributed to the MTV Special the Tom Green Subway Monkey Hour. However, the show didn’t meet the audience’s expectations and was canceled after eleven weeks, followed by low TRP. The actor has also worked as an author and released his autobiography named Hollywood Causes Cancer: The Tom Green Story, where he described his Hollywood career, testicular cancer, and short-lived marriage.

Tom Green married Drew Barrymore on 7th July 2001. The couple has worked together in two movies. However, due to personal reasons, their relationship could not work for longer, and they filed for divorce in December 2001. After 15 years, the ex-couple again connected with each other in Barrymore’s eponymous talk show. In addition to this, the actor has participated in-game show The Celebrity Apprentice. On 21st February 2019, Tom became a United States citizen.
