Who was John Locke?

John Locke, born on – August 29, 1632, in Somerset, England; Died on – October 28, 1704. John Locke was a highly recognized Philosopher of the English language and a physician. He is world widely known as one of the most influential and enlightened people of the world of history. Locke is massively called as the “Father of Liberalism”.

Both of his parents were Puritans. John Locke’s father, named – John Locke again, was a clerk at the Justices of the Peace – A court in Chew Magna and also as a captain for the Parliamentarian during the early time of English civil war. His mother’s name was Agnes Keene.

John Locke went to the prestigious school named – Westminster school that was in London in the year 1647. He got admission in the school with the help of Alexander Popham, who was the commander of his father. John also studied at the university and got his bachelor’s degree in the year 1656 and masters in the year 1658. He got a bachelor’s degree in medicine in the year 1675. In the year 1666, he met Anthony Ashley Cooper, Lord Ashley, who persuaded him to be a part of his entourage. John started working there in London as his physician.
